15 years in the industry has taught me this: What’s clear is that costs need to come down, access to care needs to be easier, and there needs to be far more transparency regarding how your dollar is spent on keeping your family healthy.
We used to think we couldn’t take a photograph without Kodak. But times, technology, and systems change. There’s no one-size-fits-all plan when it comes to health care, and there shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all program for American families. A public option AND private insurance can coexist– because that’s how we cover as many Texans with the health care they want and deserve.
This shouldn’t be a controversial issue. A healthy Texas is a more productive Texas.
We can’t keep living on borrowed time. The time to act is now or our children will pay the catastrophic price for our inaction.
There are opportunities to revolutionize our economy and promote growth with clean energy if we’re just willing to do the work up front, and that’s exactly what I intend to do in Congress.
We need leadership that can join representatives from across the aisle in discussing pragmatic ways we can combat climate change. This isn’t a partisan issue. It’s a Texas and American issue.
My grandparents escaped genocide and tyranny in Armenia, and America has given us nothing but opportunity, prosperity, and a chance at an incredible life. This distinctly American value of welcoming immigrants is a huge part of why I love my country so much.
Immigrants are a cornerstone of our culture and economy. Always have been. Those fleeing violence and oppression, particularly at great risk to themselves and their children, shouldn’t be regarded with suspicion and bias, but welcomed through appropriate legal channels. It’s not a zero sum game: We can maintain secure borders AND provide the same opportunity to immigrants and refugees that we have for generations.
